Day One: Team Utah's FBU Season Begins
The first practice of the FBU season is where a roster of strangers starts becoming a team. Team Utah's 2025 campaign opened with day one.

Every season has a first day. For Team Utah's 2025 FBU campaign, it started on the practice field, with a roster of players who had earned their spots and now had to learn to play as one.
The first practice is rarely about polish. It is about introductions: new teammates, new coaches, a new standard. Players who were rivals a season ago line up on the same side of the ball, and the slow work of building chemistry begins one rep at a time.
Building a team from scratch
FBU pulls together top players from across the state, which means Team Utah is assembled fast and has little time to gel before the competition begins. That makes day one matter more than it might anywhere else. The tempo, the communication, the willingness to be coached: it all gets set early, and it sets the ceiling for everything that follows.
By the end of the first session, the outlines of a team start to show. There is a long way to go before Nationals, but every season that ends under the lights begins exactly here, on an ordinary practice field, on day one.
